The Government of Dominica has been making preparations for the reopening of Dominica’s borders.Some time ago, it was announced that Dominicans stranded overseas would be able to return home on July 15. In light of this, port authorities have made changes in order to facilitate the reopening of the borders. Sneeze guards have been erected to protect airline attendants and customers.
According to the Minister of Health, Dr.Irving McIntyre, persons must fill out and submit a questionnaire at least 24 hours before travel. The form may be accessed on the Government’s website.
While airport users will definitely miss the blue and orange ID of the all familiar Leeward Island Air Transport (LIAT) as it was announced earlier that the airline would face liquidation, there is the promise of new alternatives.
Minister of Tourism, Hon. Denise Charles has promised that the liquidation of LIAT is an opportunity for the market to expand affording Dominicans more choices of Airlines.
