The Magistrate’s Court has denied bail for four young men between the ages of 15-18 who were charged in a series of burglaries in February.
The prosecution argued against bail on the grounds that they are in pursuit of others and that their efforts to recover the items will be futile as well as the communities affected will return to a state of panic.
The judge said that after considering the facts of the case, he could not grant bail, however the defense may reapply in one months time or apply to the High Court immediately.
The boys have been charged for involvement in about 20 burglaries between Mahaut and Roseau from October 2019 to February 2020.
