Dominican athlete Thea Lafond has qualified for the summer Olympic Games in Japan, after clearing the 14.32 M Olympic qualifying mark with a jump of 14.33 M at the University of Albany Winter Classic in New York.
Lafond who was unable to compete in the Outdoor World Championships because of an injury said that she is excited and can now focus on jumping even farther now that the goal of qualifying is complete.
Lafond is a Bronze medalist from the 2018 Commonwealth games. She earned the medal for a jump of 13.92 M.
