According to the Minister for Health, Dr. Irvin McIntyre, there has been an increase in drug related incidents at the Accident and Emergency Department at the princess Margret Hospital.

He says that the incidents include Cannabis Intoxication, Prescription Drug overdose and Substance Induced Psychosis.

Further, the Minister has revealed that drug abuse has contributed to abled- bodied men being sent to prison or becoming patients at the psychiatric ward.

Hon. Macintyre said that the Ministry of Health is collaborating with key stake holders and the drug prevention unit, and have initiated alternative activities and programs to forge ahead in building a resilient health system.
