Twenty-two-year-old, Lorenzo Sanford was sure that he could have gained the support of the youth to become the next Kalinago Chief and that he has. There was a wide array of candidates including three former chiefs and the first-ever female candidate contesting this election.
Lorenzo came out on top with 409 votes, three votes ahead of Nurse Annette Thomas- Sanford.
Former Chief, Charles Williams was only able to secure 12 votes. Elvis Francis gained 186 votes, Jumadine Frederick 70 votes, Irvince Auguiste 44 votes, and Reny Auguiste 10 votes. There were 21 rejected ballots.
