The Dominica Police Welfare Association held its 2018 award ceremony on Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Public Service Union Building.
Officers were awarded under the categories of Outstanding Officers for 2018 in the various departments within the Police Force, Best Turned Out Officer (Male and Female), Police Sports Club Sportsman of the Year, among others.
Special awards were granted unto retired officers in the name of Superintendant Cuffy Williams who served for 41 years; Sergeant Addison Matthew: 41 years; Corporal Nicholson Gordon: 39 years; Inspector Emmanuel James: 37 years, and Corporal Thomas Attidore: 36 years. Inspector Winston Laville was awarded for outstanding service over a span of 30 years. Also, Minelle Samuel was awarded as the Welfare Association’s Employee of the Year.
The Police Welfare Association is an association which consists of all members of the Dominica Police Force below the rank of Assistant Superintendent, which acts through an Executive Committee. This Committee makes representation with regard to all matters that affect the general welfare and efficiency of the Police Force.
