4 New Cases Of COVID-19

According to National Epidemiologist,  Dr.Shaluddin Ahmed, there has been four new cases of COVID-19 on island. Two of the four cases have been linked to a cluster which originated at the All Saints University, while the third case was discovered by rapid testing at the airport and the fourth case is a foreign national identified by pre travel screening. While the individuals are asymptomatic presently, two of them exhibited mild flu like symptoms.

Ahmed said that contact tracing is ongoing. So far 72 contacts have been tested and they were all negative. Also, the Health team has conducted mass screening at the All Saints University.

Although we have new cases, the number of active cases has dropped to 17 since 55 persons have successfully recovered from the disease. There has been no deaths to date.
