The Government of Dominica has completed the COVID-19 center within the perimeter of the St.James building in Portsmouth. This is according to the Minister of Health, Hon.Irving McIntyre.
The completion of the building means that there is an additional 18 beds available for COVID-19 related cases.
The Minister expressed profound gratitude to the many persons who assisted in the completion of the center.
The Minister said further that many persons who provided accommodation for use as quarantine facilities, as well as those who provided meals, transportation and construction materials did so with no thought about payment. He says that it is because ‘they put country first and trusted their Government to honour its responsibilities as regard to pay’.
This is the second COVID-19 unit. The primary one is located at Roseau.
