Recently, Winera encountered challenges with its banana box production and was unable to supply our banana farmers with boxing and packaging materials. The boxing shortage resulted in revenue losses as many farmers could not sell their produce and fruits for several weeks.

The Pierre Administration is taking action to support our banana farmers by establishing a shared compensation package to cover their losses. The government is committing $500,000 in direct support to farmers affected by the shortage.

The Ministry of Agriculture will administer the compensation package.
