Today, April 7, is celebrated worldwide as World Health Day. World Health Day came about at the First Health Assembly in 1948 and took effect in 1950.
The purpose of World Health Day is to bring awareness of a specific health theme to the forefront and to highlight a priority area of concern for the World Health Organization (WHO).
The theme for this year’s World Health Day is ‘Support Nurses and Midwives’.
Emonews joins the world in celebrating nurses and midwives who perform a wide range of duties from the every day task of dressing wounds to the more intricate task of delivering babies.
