Vacancy Notice – Administrative Officer

AN INSURANCE COMPANY is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual, from Portsmouth and environs, to join our Insurance team as an Insurance Administrative Officer. The successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth operation of its Insurance department and contribute to the overall efficiency of the company.

Key responsibilities:

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve customers by providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service in the processing of insurance applications, policy renewals, and endorsements
  • Answer customer inquiries regarding company products, services, and procedures
  • Review new and renewal business for completeness and compliance with underwriting guidelines
  • Issue policies, binders, and certificates according to company procedures
  • Process cancellations, refunds, and other adjustments to be approved by supervisor.
  • Maintain knowledge of company products, services, and underwriting guidelines
  • Follow up on outstanding items such as missing information or documentation.
  • Refer complex questions and problems to supervisor
  • Update job knowledge by studying new product descriptions and participating in educational opportunities
  • Accurately handle cash and checks according to company procedures
  • Balance daily transactions

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma and /or College diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as an insurance clerk or in a related position
  • Excellent knowledge of insurance products and processes will be an asset.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Salary

Compensation is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
