Twelve quarterfinalists have been chosen from sixty Calypsonians to meet the twenty semifinalists of last year’s Calypso competition.
Those selected are:

- Deryck St. Rose – Hunter
- Jamal Lloyd – Black Diamond
- Denyan Joseph – Danyan
- Webster Marie – De Webb
- Lemor Irish- Irish Kid
- Andre Joseph – Mask Eruption
- Steve Williams- Triumph
- Wilfred Peltier – Intruder
- Dave Pascal – Soul Puss
The three on reserve are:

The Quarter Finals of Calypso will be staged on February 2, 2019, following which twenty Calypsonians will be chosen for the Semi-Finals. Last night’s show was held at the Harlem Plaza and was attended by a very appreciative audience who braved the intermittent drizzle to get a first of Calypso for 2019.
