At a press conference held on Tuesday 18th January 2022, Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Cricket Association, Augustine ‘Beno’ Pascal announced the selection of Mikayla Herman and Abina St. Jean to join the Windward Islands under 19 cricket team in a series of T-20 matches in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
In his statement, Pascal stated:
“Two young, Dominica, female cricketers, Merkala Herman (confirm spelling) and Abini St. Jean have been selected for the Windward Islands under 19 cricket squad to take part in a series of 4 T-20 matches versus the USA under 19 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The series is a part of a strategic partnership between USA Cricket and Cricket West Indies.
The selectees will leave Dominica for St. Vincent on Friday, January 21st, and return on January 30th. The Dominica Cricket Association wished the Dominican players and the Windward Islands under 19 team by extension well. And also, would like to thank coach Sam Kernan for preparing the players on such short notice.”
