The Solid Waste Management Corporation has acquired a flat bed truck and a crane truck to assist in a clean up campaign around the island.
General Manager of the Solid Waste Management Corporation, Florian Mitchel says, “It is our expectation as at 31 December 2020, we would be able to remove over 500 derelict vehicles within the island. To date, we have collected in excess of 106 vehicles.
So it means that we should be able to surpass our expectation”.
Mitchel is calling on the general public to work with the corporation in the removal of derelict vehicles as these pose a challenge to both human health and the natural environment.
