RAYASTA FOUNDATION BRINGS PHYSICAL THERAPY TO STROKE PATIENTS THROUGH INNOVATIVE TUTORIAL VIDEO

The RayAsta Foundation is excited to unveil its latest initiative aimed at helping stroke sufferers in their recovery. By featuring Dr. Brian Edmunds, a veteran Physical Therapist with over 37 years of experience working with stroke patients, the foundation is committed to bringing physical therapy within reach of those who face various challenges accessing it, whether through financial constraints, transportation issues, lack of information, physical limitations, psychological factors, or other circumstances. The tutorial video is designed to provide practical assistance to stroke patients and their caretakers, giving them access to valuable care and support.

According to Monelle Alexis, RayAsta Foundation’s PR Campaign Coordinator, “The RayAsta Foundation understands that numerous stroke patients cannot access the physical therapy they need for recovery. So, we opted to bring a physical therapist into their homes via mobile device.” The 30-minute video gives comprehensive guidance for caretakers on how to properly position, transfer, sit, walk, and exercise those who have suffered from a stroke.

The tutorial video is designed to be practical, straightforward, and accessible, ensuring viewer understanding and engagement. As Alexis explains, “The guidance offered in this tutorial video is clear and concise, taking viewers through each step of managing and positioning stroke patients or anyone else requiring physical therapy. Caregivers and stroke patients can access the video from the RayAsta Foundation’s website, www.rayastafoundation.org; Facebook page, RayAsta Foundation; or through this link: https://rayastafoundation.org/blog/stroke-recovery.” To maximize its reach, the foundation aims to share this valuable resource with healthcare professionals across the island and through the media.

The foundation extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Edmunds for his invaluable contribution to the service of stroke patients in Dominica.

The RayAsta Foundation believes everyone should have access to quality healthcare services regardless of their financial situation or location. The tutorial video is one more step towards achieving this goal and providing those in need with the help they deserve.
