The Portsmouth Secondary School Environmental Club played its part in keeping Dominica clean and green.
According to Ms. Erita Valerie each week the club engages in positive vibes. “This week it was outside the four walls of our school and in the community. We met earlier in the term and decided that we would do a cleanup along the main road from Secret Bay to Coconut Beach and also along the beachline. With the consent of our Principal, Mr. Austrie and our parents, we left the gates of P.S.S some 32 strong male and female students from all form levels.”
Valerie said that the purpose of the activity was “to show a greater sense of appreciation for the environment.” She said that excitement and patriotism prevailed among the students throughout the activity. The clean up was a collaborative effort with the town council who had the responsibility of disposing of the garbage bags of rubbish collected.
