Marigot residents take protest action to echo the call for reliable health facilities in the North East Health District of Dominica. News of this was broken this morning by Egbert Jeremy, the Chair of the Marigot Village Council.
Emonews has been further informed that the intention of the protestors is to take such action until the authorities respond to the needs of the people. The Marigot hospital was abandoned and later demolished because of mold and fungus infestation.
The government of Dominica had earlier promised that a new hospital for Marigot is in the design stages and that the facility will come on stream soon. The Marigot hospital served communities from the Kalinago Territory to Calibishie. Emonews will provide further updates.
