Prime Minister Hon. Philip J. Pierre has accepted an invitation from the Office of the Executive Director of the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC) to participate in official activities marking its 20th anniversary from June 24 – June 25, 2025, in Belize.
In Belize, Prime Minister Pierre will engage in bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Belize, Hon. John Briceno, and participate in the official groundbreaking ceremony for the CCCCC’s new permanent headquarters in Belmopan.
The CCCCC is the region’s lead coordinating agency on climate change. As Chair of the CARICOM’s quasi-cabinet on Sustainable Development, Prime Minister Pierre’s participation in the CCCCC’s anniversary activities demonstrates Saint Lucia’s continued commitment to fostering deeper regional cooperation on climate change.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information, Hon. Dr Ernest Hilaire, will act as Prime Minister until June 27, 2025.
