Prime Minister Hon. Roosevelt Skerrit says that Dominicans need to pay closer attention to the cleanliness of the country especially as it relates to derelict vehicles by the roadside.
“People believe that they can bring these old vehicles from Japan and just put them by the side of the road and don’t pay attention to these things. I’m warning all of you who have derelict vehicles on the side of the road, they will be removed and removed very quickly and if we have to go to Parliament to change the laws then we will go to Parliament and change the laws.”
Skerrit says that this is a health and safety issue as well as it negatively impacts the Tourism industry and also brings down the value of persons homes.
The Prime Minister says that each of us must play our part in beautification and cleanliness of the island.
