Past PSS Students Chosen for Program in Canada

Former students of the Portsmouth Secondary School and present students of the Dominica State College, Josefani Bello-Feliz and Jamescia George are recipients of a one-year scholarship to study under the Canada- CARICOM Leadership Exchange Program at the Nova Scotia Community College in Canada.

Under the program, the students will also do an internship at a hotel in Canada. Jamescia, who is a Hospitality Studies major said that she is enrolled in the Business Tourism course and looks forward to the knowledge, skills, and experiences the program will provide.

“I am very excited to be enrolled in this program because it’s very educational and teaches the best practices and processes involved in creating, developing and managing visitor experiences and strategies for providing relevant customer service whether you work for someone or decide to start your own business. This course gives the opportunity to gain international experience which is an advantage in gaining employment at a hotel in Dominica”, Jamescia said.
