The Pan American Health Organization / World Health Organization Office for Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean has held a high-level planning and orientation meeting with Barbados’ newly appointed Minister of Health and Wellness, Lisa Cummins.
The discussions focused on the organisation’s Biennial Work Plan for 2026–2027, as well as ongoing technical cooperation and strategic priorities for the health sector.
Officials say the meeting aimed to ensure alignment between national health goals and regional initiatives, strengthening collaboration to improve healthcare delivery and outcomes across Barbados.
The engagement marks an important step in advancing key health actions for the upcoming biennium, reinforcing a shared commitment to public health development in Barbados and the wider Eastern Caribbean.
