“Reading and writing are not only important for us to communicate with each other, it can sometimes, change our fortunes”.

This year in an attempt to encourage our students to explore their creativity in writing, I have decided to allow the Grade’s 5 and 6 students an opportunity to be rewarded for that exercise.

Students are to write a short story under the following criteria:

1. Theme, “My Country”
You may formulate your own topics.

2. Word limit is 750 words.

3. Deadline for submission to your teacher is Friday, the 22nd of March 2019.

4. The top essay, chosen by your teacher, and the students name will be announced on Monday the 25th and awards will be presented on Tuesday the 26th.

5. All participating students will receive a “congratulations for your confidence in writing certificate” on Tuesday.

I encourage all students who are eligible to participate

The essay should be handwritten.
