Attorney Ronald Charles was the newest United Workers Party Senator to be sworn in at Parliament on January 21st, 2019. Mr. Charles announced that residents of the Roseau Valley will have the opportunity to hold open discussions on matters of community building. He also plans on establishing a free legal aid clinic for the lesser fortunate.
In addition to this, Mr. Charles pledged to conform to the expected decorum of debate in the House of Assembly. A designated “People’s Day” each month was also among some of his plans.
Mr. Ronald Charles replaces Dr. Thomson Fontaine, whom Speaker of the House of Assembly Alix Boyd-Knights says, forwarded no letter requesting time away from Parliament.
