The Christian Union Mission Church of Marigot has responded to a need of the community and launched ‘Prayer and Love On Wheels- PLOW’.
The new Ministry will serve to deliver hot meals to those in need. It will also he an essential service to seniors and others who are in need of a taxi service to run errands such as buying groceries and other supplies, and go to the hospital or pharmacy.
Pastor Ned Prince said that the idea for PLOW was birthed in his heart in 2016 when he and his wife first decided to move back home to Dominica. While there were many challenges that threatened PLOW he is thankful to God that PLOW has overcome them all is being launched.
According to Bishop Lennox Timothy, ‘Prayer and love on wheels’ will only work when hearts are moved by compassion just like Jesus’ heart was.
Timothy reminded all that it is the Christian’s responsibility to identify and be and willing to meet the needs of those around him. He must be willing to sacrifice time, resources and efforts as well as to take risks. He mentioned that the purchasing of the vehicle was the first risk taken by the church as well as all other preparations including buying insurance.
He encouraged those who will be directly involved in the Ministry to always remember that the main objective is to touch lives. So whether or not you are welcomed or you receive rejection of and criticism, keep that objective in mind.
