In celebration of its 43rd anniversary, the National Bank of Dominica(NBD) donated in excess of $15,000 to charitable organizations on the island.
Executive Marketing Manger, Suzanne Piper, said, ” Our anniversary is always a time to reflect on our achievements and to contemplate the future but most importantly it is a time for us to stop and say Thank You to all our stakeholders…It is also a time to give back to our communities”.
Piper added that NBD has a history of giving back to the community. She said that the organizations receiving the donations also have a history of giving back to the community by serving the underprivileged.
She said, “We understand how difficult it is for organizations such as yours to keep the doors opened and to keep doing what you’re doing and we would like to help in our own little way”.
The organizations receiving $2500 each were Dominica Infirmary, Dominica Association of Persons with Disabilities (DAPD), Chances, House of Hope Inc, Community Hostel Inc(formerly Grotto Home for the Homeless) and Operation Youth Quake, while the Northern District Home for the Aged in Grange Portsmouth received $5000.
Piper also encouraged customers to participate in the many activities which will be held throughout the week.
