Rising Caribbean Neo Soul star, Ms Lí-Lí Octave, is thrilled to announce the release of her highly anticipated live album, “Play on Venus (Live),” on September 30, 2024. This captivating collection showcases 10 original songs penned between November 2023 and February 2024, and masterfully performed live at Jazz ‘n Dine 2024 at the Intercontinental Dominica Cabrits Resort and Spa. While preparing for Jazz ‘n Dine she was invited to be a headliner, and so performed some of her new material at Dominica’s Jazz ‘n Creole 2024.
She is no stranger to such invitations, as in January of 2023 she was invited to headline the opening night of the Bequia Music Festival and on June 27, 2024 she performed live in Geneva, Switzerland after being commissioned to write a titular song for the International Trade Center’s 60th Anniversary.
Fresh from her electrifying performance with the Total Praise Mass Choir at the Caribbean Gospel Fest in Guadeloupe, held on September 21, 2024, Ms Lí-Lí Octave continues to make waves with her exceptional vocals. This recent performance earned her recognition in Guadeloupe as an “example of impressive vocals from Dominica” in the national newspaper.
Her unique blend of Neo Soul and Caribbean Rhythms, which she calls Caribbean Neo Soul, has garnered international recognition, earning her the title of “The Caribbean Neo Soul Queen.”

In an interview about the album Ms Lí-Lí Octave says,“‘Play on Venus’ is my take on the female perspective and what we as women experience in everyday situations.
You know the famous saying that men are from Mars and women are from Venus?
Well, this is my way of inviting everyone to take on the soulful journey of the making of this lyrical Venus of mine — a planet of worded expressions which has formed this Play on Venus album.
You’ll find a perspective on love making, the compromising situations that we sometimes find ourselves in, the struggle we experience trying to control our thoughts and words (especially around that luteal phase), the way we feel like we can conquer the world at times or when we’re needing motivation and when we just want to be left alone.
This album, though it is written from a female perspective, has something that everyone can relate to and enjoy and I consider it a ‘Work Of Art’.”
In the lead-up to the album’s release, Ms Lí-Lí Octave will be performing select songs from “Play on Venus (Live)” at the Flavours of the World Festival 2024 on September 29, 2024 with her band. This performance will support the renovation of the Roseau Cathedral Building, a historic and tourism landmark in Dominica.
Following the album launch, Ms Lí-Lí Octave will take her talents to Algiers, Algeria, where she has once again been invited to perform her original songs, this time at the CANEX WKND from October 16-19, 2024.
