Ministry Of Tourism Sets Eyes On December For Possible Reopening Of Cruise Tourism

The Cruise Industry had an early close last season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and according to Minister of Tourism, Hon. Denise Charles, while a reopening in October is not possible, her Ministry has its eyes set on a possible reopening by December.

The Minister said, “We are certainly having discussions with the cruise people. I’ve had several meetings with some cruise lines and we’re hoping if all goes well that probably in December we’ll see the return of cruise activity and going into the new year in 2021. Once we can finalize our protocols and ensure that we can implement them on the island…We are tweaking and working on the protocols. Once we can implement them effectively, we should expect to see a return of Cruise Tourism.

The Minister said that the safety and health of citizens are top priority.
