Shirley Linton, the wife of Opposition leader Lennox Linton, took to the platform on Sunday to endorse her husband.
Mrs. Linton said that Lennox has been a wonderful husband for 35 years and an exemplary father. “I fell in love with a gentleman who is patient, kind and loving. Lennox makes me very happy and puts a smile on my face all the time and yes, Lennox has a sense of humour.” Mrs. Linton said that Lennox is the best role model for her children and also for the people around him. She said that they both cherish the values of honesty, humility, and respect. She said further that Lennox is a true family man with a big heart who has made huge sacrifices for others and Dominica.
She said that the political journey has not been an easy one for their family and recounted the lawsuits and persecutions in court and said that this (DLP) regime has gone hard after her husband who has been nothing but courageous.
According to her, all Lennox wants to do is to make Dominica the best place where we can all live, work and enjoy life. Mrs. Linton said that she was not surprised when Lennox decided to enter politics as he has always been passionate about the truth; he dislikes injustice and has always spoken against corruption.
She is happy that he chose to stand against corruption and she stands with him because she trusts him with the lives of the people of Dominica.
