Aldi Esprit and his partner of Layou residing in St. Joseph, both appeared in Court on a joint charge of drug trafficking a controlled drug namely cannabis.
The offence was said to have occurred on the 8th March, 2024.
Initially both Esprit and his partner pleaded not guilty to the offence, however upon change of counsel, Esprit pleaded guilty to the offence while his partner pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution offered no evidence against his partner and fined Esprit $5,000 for the offence. The said drug (cannabis) carried a street value of $1,100.00.
