JCI Dominica has made history by capturing the Best Local Global Goals Project Award at the 2025 JCI World Congress held in Tunis, Tunisia, for its flagship initiative, Read With Me. This marks a proud and historic milestone for both the organization and Dominica.
Read With Me was designed to promote early literacy, strengthen family engagement, and provide equitable access to educational resources for children across the island. Rooted in Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, the project combines awareness, action, and sustainability through reading sessions, book drives, training for parents and caregivers, and the distribution of literacy support tools.
Local President of JCI Dominica, Mr. Phael Lander, expressed his pride in the achievement:
“This is a proud moment for JCI Dominica. Read With Me was born from a simple idea in 2020 with a powerful purpose — to build a love for reading, strengthen family engagement, and make learning accessible to every child. Winning Best Local Global Goals Project at the 2025 JCI World Congress validates the heart, hard work, and commitment of our members. I am grateful to every partner, parent, volunteer, and stakeholder who believed in this vision with us. Today, Dominica stands on the world stage proving that when we invest in our children, we invest in our future.”

Junior Chamber International (JCI) Dominica is a membership-based nonprofit organization for young leaders aged 18 to 40. JCI empowers individuals to develop leadership skills, foster personal and professional growth, and drive positive change through sustainable community projects and civic engagement.
