February 11 is celebrated worldwide as International Day of Women and Girls in Science.

The Commonwealth of Dominica Commonwealth Scholars Alumni Association will launch its Girls In Science project to encourage students to pursue careers in the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) fields.

This is the initial project of the Alumni Association of Dominica.According to Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, although Science is a collaborative discipline it is held back by a gender gap.
