Organisers of Hommage, the Kadans-Lypso tribute show starring Michele Henderson have heard the call of the Dominica Diaspora and fans across the globe who want to witness this major musical event which forms part of the Cadance-Lypso Month calendar of activities. Thanks to Come See TV, those who will not be at Fort Young Hotel’s Palisades Restaurant on Saturday July 9th, will now access the 8pm concert from the comfort of their homes.
“The requests for the stream were really overwhelming and we had to really débouyé to make it happen,” says headliner and organiser Michele Henderson.
Come See TV’s Lindsey George says his company will facilitate and manage the live stream to ensure viewers have an enjoyable experience.
“We anticipate a large number of viewers for Hommage, and Come See TV is prepped to provide a quality feed to everyone who wishes to view, he says assuredly.
Those interested can visit comeseetv.com to sign up. The cost is US$15 per person and viewers can expect to see Henderson perform original numbers such as “The Beat Goes On,” “Dominik Viva” and “Festival.” She, of course, will pay homage to the Kadans-Lypso greats to include Exile One, Grammacks, Midnight Groovers and Ophelia.
Kadans-Lypso is a musical genre originating from Dominica in the 1970s and in its heyday, saw the establishment of several bands in communities around the island.
The Creole Heartbeat–organised Cadance-Lypso month was first observed in 2021 and seeks to highlight the genre introducing new generations of Dominicans to this indigenous music and reminding fans of the songs of yesteryear.
Hommage is sponsored by the Fort Young Hotel, Creole Heartbeat, Michele Henderson Inc., Tranquility Beach Hotel, D Shipping and Logistics, ASI and The Glam Cosmetics.
Dinner starts at 7pm with musical tribute from 8pm in-person and online via Come See TV.
