On Wednesday, the International Migration Organization (IOM) Dominica participated for the first time in the Global Migration Film Festival (GMFF).
The chosen film was One Way Ticket which was screened at Emerald Movies.
The film followed an extended family and a single man (Isaiah Bahati) who were refugees from the Democratic Republic of Congo and who were helped by IOM to take up residence in the United States.Following the screening, attendees discussed various issues related to migration in general and Dominica’s Migrant population in particular.
Attendees from a wide cross section of Dominica agreed that the film was an eye opener in the global migration discussion.
