Wondem who is from the village of St.Joseph also encouraged the young girls to be careful with what they share online as it never really disappears and engineers like herself are able to retrieve it.

Permanent Secretary in the ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs, Mrs. Gloria Joseph represented the Minister of Telecommunications who was unable to be present. She encouraged the young girls to challenge the status quo and go after careers in ICT if they so desire. She pledged the Government’s commitment in collaboration with regional and international agencies ‘to continue to connect the unconnected’. She said that the ministry is committed to have 100% broadband connectivity by the end of the year.

The ceremony also featured other women in ICT such as Web Developers and IT consultants.
