Further Relaxation of COVID-19 Restrictions

The Minister of Health, Hon. Irving McIntyre announced on Thursday that the curfew restrictions has been further lifted. As of Monday 15, June, curfew hours will be between 10PM to 5AM daily.

Further, gyms, bars, hotels and tour operators, cinemas,libraries and gaming shops can now reopen but are subject to the curfew hours. Schools and day cares will still remain closed. Businesses may operate at usual working hours subject to curfew restrictions.

Persons are able to access rivers and beaches subject to curfew hours.

According to the Minister the next phase, which is a very critical phase because of the tourism industry, economic aspect and health risk, is the reopening of our borders.

Dr. McIntyre called on Dominicans to show patriotism and be responsible in following COVID-19 protocols inclusive of wearing masks, social distancing and physical hygiene.

He expressed thanks to the Pan American Health organization and businesses who donated in one way or another.

The Minister’s comments came on the backdrop that it has been 60 days since Dominica reported its last positive local(not imported) COVID-19 case.
