Forty Farmers of Morne Prosper Have Received Incentives to Expand Their Enterprise

Yesterday, February 13, 2019, the Japan-Caribbean Climate Change Partnership (JCCCP) Program through United Nations Development Fund (UNDF) made tools and equipment available to farmers in the Morne Prosper area, worth about $390, 000.

Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Reginald Thomas, stated that Morne Prosper is one of the major vegetable growing areas in Dominica, with most of the production being done in an open-field manner on sloping terrains. He also commended that approximately 80% of the producers are of the female gender, and this should be celebrated.
