Former DGS students give back

Past students of the Dominica Grammar School made a financial contribution to their alma mater. The DGS Class of 1990 donated over $1300 to the principal Ms. Edina Darwton on Monday January 24, 2022. The donation was received from former

DGS students who graduated in 1990 and currently reside in Dominica and around the world.

Ms. Darwton thanked the students for the timely contribution which will go into the school’s pastoral care programme. According to PRO for the DGS class of 1990 group, Daphne Vidal, “This is just the first step in our efforts to give back to the school. There are over 60 members of the DGS class of 1990, and we see the need to contribute meaningfully to the school which has helped shape our lives in so many ways. We see this opportunity as just a small step to the start of a budding relationship to provide much needed support to the students and staff of the Dominica Grammar School. We look forward to

working closely with the principal and staff of the Dominica Grammar School as we seek to actively live out the school’s motto – Mens Sana in Corpore Sano “A sound mind in a healthy body” · The presentation was made in recognition of the celebration of the school’s 129th anniversary this month.
