“As it relates to the fitness levels, I’m quite impressed with the ladies.”
The team was involved in two training sessions on Thursday as preparation for the CONCACAF Women’s Qualifiers ramps up.
The fitness coach says with just a few days till the team’s first game, the training sessions are kept relatively short to avoid fatigue and injuries.
“In this phase we have to be very meticulous as coaches as we plan our sessions because we’re talking about six days before a major match.”
Coach Watt also touched on the fitness level of the young winger, Romelcia Phillip who he said has improved during the 12-week programme.
“When we started, she [Romelcia] was overweight and out of shape, but after going through the programme we saw a great improvement in her fitness level.”
Coach Watt says the team now has to maintain its fitness level for the upcoming two games.
