Dr. Wendell Walter, a proud son of Moore Park, Paix-Bouche, has achieved a significant academic milestone by earning a Doctor of Engineering in Cybersecurity Analytics from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He was formally recognized during the university’s May 2025 graduation celebrations and commencement ceremony held this past weekend in the U.S. capital.

Dr. Walter’s academic journey began at Portsmouth Secondary School, where he graduated with the Class of 1998, followed by studies at Clifton Dupigny Community College, Class of 2000. He went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunications Engineering at Universidad de Oriente in Cuba. His academic pursuits later took him to the United States, where he earned a Master of Science in Communication Technology and Policy from Ohio University in 2009, and an MBA in Business Intelligence and Analytics Management from DeVry University in 2018.

His newly conferred doctorate reflects years of dedication and groundbreaking research, with a particular focus on cybersecurity analytics related to Insider Threats—a topic of growing importance in today’s digital landscape. Dr. Walter’s work is expected to contribute meaningfully to the advancement of cybersecurity practices and policies.
