After having conducted the necessary interviews, the Monetary Council of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) has appointed Dr. Valda Henry as the new Deputy Governor of the ECCB.
Dr. Henry is a national of the Commonwealth of Dominica. She is also the first woman to be appointed in the position of Deputy Governor and the third Deputy Governor of the ECCB.
She stands as no stranger to the ECCB having served as Senior Investment Officer from the period of 1994-1998. Post Hurricane Maria, she embarked on a project for the ECCB for the duration of 18 months to provide recommendations for the restructuring of several of the bank’s departments.
Notably, the experience and wealth of qualifications that she brings to the table makes her ideal for the position. Dr. Henry currently holds a PhD in Industrial Relations and Business, a Master’s in Business Administration, a Bachelor’s in Management and a Bachelor’s in Law. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Certified Global Professional in Human Resources, a SHRM- SCP. Furthermore, she also has under her belt over twenty years’ experience in the public, private and financial sectors.
Dr. Henry is set to commence her five-year term commencing September 2021. This new role helps to ignite the ongoing love that she has for the ECCB and her commitment to serving the Eastern Caribbean Community.
