Former queen contestant, Shannon Vigilant from the village of Laplaine was the language coach for Miss France Ophély Mézino in the recently concluded Miss World Pageant 2019 in London.

Miss France emerged as 1st Runner Up in the Miss World competition and won the Miss World Europe title.

Vigilant is no stranger to pageantry as she was 1st Runner Up in MISS Dominica 1997, winner of Miss West Indies and a promoter of the Queen of the Caribbean Pageant.

Miss France who has lived in Guadeloupe said that the hardest part for her was speaking in English. According to Vigilant, Miss France was a natural, because she has the warmest heart and a great personality.
