The Caricom council for Human and Social Development on Education announced recently that the CSEC (CXC) exams will take place in late June into July and local CXC registrar, Magaly Celestine says that Dominica is in full support of that decision. She says that Dominican students will be ready to sit the exams at that time.
“Since we were given the mandate, we started the ball rolling to get things ready for the June to July 2020 exams. The format has been tweaked a bit…I think our major setback at this moment is the lack of internet in all of our schools, all of our rooms… But for the most part our principals are on board, our teachers are ready…the majority of our SBA grades are already on the system”, Celestine said.
Most of the exams will not have a paper 2 or structured paper, except for the modern languages and Human and Social Biology. Students will be graded on the paper 1 or Multiple Choice which will be administered online and the School Based Assessment(SBA). Last year, CXC began testing the administration of Paper 1’s online.
CSEC/CXC exams are usually held from May into June.
