Dean of Academics at the Dominica State College (DSC), Dr. Hermancia Eugene-Zamore announced that after taking in requests from various persons and local institutions, the DSC will start the recruitment process of students for an Associate Degree in Social Work. Dr. Eugene-Zamore is encouraging unqualified persons who are practicing Social Work to take advantage of enrolling in the program in order to get the necessary qualifications and certification.
She further expressed that the program has been vetted so that students who wish to, can pursue a Bachelor’s program afterward or enter the field of Social Work right here in Dominica or abroad. Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Ashley Massicotte also provided that although students come in stating their interests, partnerships with other organizations were sought in order to facilitate this program. He hopes that the Associates of Social Work will help to train persons in preparation for offering the best human services possible to the nation.
