DOMINICA, (December 1, 2023)– Dominica is delighted to welcome MS Borealis for its inaugural call to the island, docking at the Roseau Cruise Ship Berth on Saturday, December 2, 2023. This visit represents the sixth (6) of thirteen (13) inaugural calls scheduled for the anticipated 2023/2024 cruise season. A plaque exchange ceremony will be held aboard the ship from 9:00 am to commemorate the ship’s first call to the island. For this cruise season, the Borealis’ itinerary includes only one call to Dominica, with a prior stopover in St. Lucia and subsequent departure for St. Kitts.
The Borealis, a proud member of the Fred Olsen fleet since 2020, offers an exceptional cruising experience through the world’s hidden waterways. Passengers can look forward to breathtaking landscapes, historical sites, and natural wonders. The ship radiates elegance and comfort, thanks to a refurbishment that met the exacting standards of the Olsen family. The Borealis boasts a range of stylish lounges, bars, restaurants, ample deck spaces, and seven hundred and two (702) luxurious cabins and suites. With a gross tonnage of sixty-one thousand, eight hundred and forty-nine (61,849), a length overall (LOA) of 237.9 meters, and a width of 32 meters, the ship comfortably accommodates one thousand three hundred and fifty-three (1,353) passengers and six hundred and forty-two (642) crew members.
Excursions planned for the Borealis’ passengers encompass some of Dominica’s most beloved attractions, including Mero Beach, Trafalgar Falls, the Emerald Pool, the Indian River, and the Cabrits National Park. The 2023/24 cruise season is projected to host two hundred and twenty-two (222) cruise calls and welcome over three hundred and sixty thousand (360,000) passengers, with thirteen (13) of these calls marking inaugural visits. As of November 22, Dominica has already greeted nineteen (19) cruise ships, carrying a total of twenty-three thousand nine hundred and eleven (23,911) passengers, of whom twenty thousand four hundred and fifty-four (20,454) disembarked and ten thousand eight hundred and thirty-seven (10,837) participated in organized tours.
