Roseau, Dominica: The Dominica Manufacturers Association (DMA) will convene its 10th Annual General Meeting at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday 19th August 2020 via Zoom under the theme; “Embracing Opportunities forManufacturing Amidst Covid-19”.
The highlight of the event will be a lead presentation by manufacturer Dr. Gail Defoe, owner and managing director of Caribbean Agros (CAPCO) followed by discussion with a panel consisting of Sam Raphael, Joey Peltier and Kervin Stephenson. The discussion will focus on taking advantage of the opportunities presented by Covid-19.
Another highlight of the Annual General Meeting is the election of a new executive which will result with the appointment of a new president of the Dominica Manufacturers Association to replace outgoing president Severin McKenzie, who has been at the helm of the organization for the last five years.
The Dominica Manufacturers Association was re-established in 2010 through the initiative of the Invest Dominica Authority (IDA) and a group of manufacturers, who recognized the need to create a representative body to promote and protect the interests of the manufacturing sector.
The Dominica Manufacturers Association (DMA) has championed the cause for the development of manufacturing in Dominica for the last ten years and is confident that manufacturing and agriculture are the lifeline for the economic development of Dominica, especially with the realities of COVID-19.
