The Dominica Manufacturers (DMA) Association will hold its annual symposium on Thursday 27, February and will be giving local manufacturers the opportunity to sell their products at the event.
According to Severin Mackenzie, president of the DMA, the activity is part of the first steps towards making manufacturing a pillar of Dominica’s economic growth and reversing the country’s unsustainable trade deficit.
The featured speaker at the symposium will be Dominica-born Dr. Peter Alfred. Alfred holds an MBA in Finance and a PHD in Economic Development Policy.
There will also be short presentations on fiscal incentives, collaboration, standards & packages, technical support and access to US markets with special emphasis on the situation in Dominica post-Hurricane Maria.
The symposium will be held under the theme: “Stepping up Production”.
