The Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) held the official launch of Experience Dominica Digital Guidebook on Friday 17, January.
The online magazine replaces the print version of Experience Dominica and is hosted on Touch Stay which is a progressive platform which allows users to access the application without having to download it from an application store. Once users access the link, via QR Code or on the DHTA Webpage (experience.dhta.org), the application will be stored on the home screen. The application may be used on cellular phones, tablets and desktops.
Executive Vice President of the DHTA, Kevin Francis said, “Citing the rise of technology in tourism and the high cost of printing, the DHTA is exploring the use of a digital guidebook through a ready to use digital platform to serve as the island’s destination guide”.
Francis said that some of the benefits of using Touch Stay digital platform are decreased cost, increased flexibility especially in updating information, increased visibility as the platform is simple and easy to use and increased conversion rates through direct booking.
He says, “Experience Dominica is for everyone. Both locals and visitors can access the digital magazine to discover new or classic accommodations, taste exciting or familiar flavors at restaurant partners, or go seeking adventure with experienced tour operators and trained guides and so much more”.
Congratulations to the DHTA on this innovative and groundbreaking project.
