DEXIA and Caribbean Export Launch Intellectual Property Training Series for SMEs, Starting December 11

The Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA) in collaboration with Caribbean Export Development Agency, will host a series of four (4) training sessions on topics relating to aspects of Intellectual Property, during the period December 2024 to March 2025.

The overall objective of these training sessions is to increase capacity, create awareness and exposure of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), such as agro-processors, musicians, artisans and persons involved in the services sector to knowledge of pertinent details related to Intellectual Property (IP).  Additionally, the training session will address the consequences and benefits attached to IP.   At the end of the session, we expect to see an increase in the number of SMEs that are registered and benefitting from such IP registration.

The first session which will be facilitated by Mr. Mc Carthy Marie, will be held on Wednesday, 11th December 2024 from 9:00am to 1:00pm at DEXIA’s Conference room and will focus on the topics “Branding, Trademarks, Service Marks and Collective Marks”.

The other sessions will focus on Copyright, Trade Secrets, Patents, Industrial Designs, Geographical Indications

To participate in the session, SMEs must be registered and operating within Dominica for more than two (2) years.   Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop or suitable device to be able to actively participate in the session.
