We wish to announce the death of Rosalind (Essie) Joseph nee Newton of San Sauveur who resided at 131 Royal Manor, Christiansted, St. Croix who transitioned from this life at the Juan F. Luis Hospital in St Croix on May 27th, 2023. She was 80 years old.
She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Carter, Beverly Joseph, Vivian Williams, Sherita Suarez, Opal Joseph and Amy Joseph.
Grandchildren: Kenneth Ricky Riviere, Antonio Nesbitt, Denecia Suarez, Danah Suarez, Xavier Suarez, Teneyah Toussaint, Aaron Williams, Alexander Williams, Mahalia Joseph, and Teja Garraway
Sisters: Valantine “Dolly” Monelle, Pauline Julien and Regina Walsh
Brothers: Paul Newton, Sheriff Newton and Griffin “Papayeen” Newton
Aunt: Bessie Newton
Sons-in-law: Luis Suarez and Rudy Williams.
Sisters-in-law: Eve Newton, Allison Newton and Juanita Newton
Nieces and nephews including: Shawn Walsh, Gifford Walsh Jr. and Rayne Walsh-Smith and their families, Joanise Hypolite , Paul Hypolite, Gertrude Hypolite, Pierra Hypolite and Gregoire Monelle and their families, Yulanda and Laura Julien and their families, Shawn Newton and Carl Newton and their families, Nicole Newton, Francis Newton, Richard Newton, Neressa Newton and their families, Fred and Shanna Newton Williams and their families , Alicia Newton, Lynton Newton, Darren Newton Dexter Newton, Nyx Newton, Rhea Newton, Chad Newton, Beryl Newton and their families, Nyron Newton and Carima Newton and their families and Sheriffa Newton and family.
Also left to mourn are the Edward families of Castle Bruce and the Newton family both here and Antigua.
Funeral services took place on Tuesday June 6th, 2023 at the Sunny Acres Seventh-Day Adventist Church in St Croix with internment at the King’s Hill Cemetery.
