The 8 members of the Delices Village Council met on Thursday to vote for a new chairperson. However, one was not chosen as the vote continued to be tied after numerous votes.
The members comprise the five persons who received the highest number of votes during the elections which was held on September 1, as well as three appointed individuals from the Minister with the responsibility for community development, Hon. Roselyn Paul.
Former chairman Mr. Michael Etienne, who placed fifth in the September 1 council elections was nominated for chairperson as well newly elected, Joye Augustine. Augustine who is employed at the National Cooperative Credit Union, topped the September 1 elections.
Since none of the nominated chairpersons would concede, the 8 members will reconvene on Monday to attempt to elect a chairperson yet again.
